Customer Spotlight: How Oncor is Improving Its Customers’ Experience
In 2007, Oncor – Texas’ largest regulated electric delivery business – decided it was time to replace its existing, home-grown outage management system. Following a multi-phase approach, Oncor successfully implemented a single user interface for all its operators, incorporating key components such as mobile workforce management, outage management, integrated advanced metering, and distribution network analysis. As part of this initiative, Oncor implemented a Continuous Improvement Initiatives Framework to further develop its culture of excellence and innovation in taking care of its customers. It applied its first Continuous Improvement Initiative, “Power On – Deliver Strong,” to improve its customers’ experience during power outages. Attend this session to hear how Oncor is using these initiatives to strengthen its operations and enhance customer communications during both planned and unplanned outages. This includes knowing anytime a customer is out of power, knowing when a customer has their power restored, and accurately communicating outage information to all customers.
