New Zealand Users Conference Recap

New Zealand User Conference

The New Zealand Intergraph Users Conference 2016 kicked off in Christchurch, New Zealand, in November. Held at the Rydges Latimer Christchurch hotel, the four-day annual event attracted 63 participants from across the country who gathered to learn about Hexagon’s solutions, share valuable insights, and network with their colleagues. Here’s a rundown of the users conference.

The conference opened with popular training workshops taught by our product specialists. Free to conference attendees, the hands-on training helped our users boost their technical skills with useful tips, tricks, and techniques. Many took advantage of the pre-conference training for ERDAS APOLLO, ERDAS IMAGINE, Smart M.Apps, and Intergraph NetWorks. The training sessions were completely full.

The conference officially kicked off with a welcome address from Stephen Willson, country manager for Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure in New Zealand. Willson’s address was followed by an interesting presentation from TomTom Maps, a Hexagon partner and conference sponsor. TomTom shared the benefits of its real-time maps platform and their plan to push the platform into its in-car bridge (Mobile Data Terminals).

Over the next two days, attendees broke out into their respective tracks: utilities and communication and geospatial. The industry tracks featured hand-picked hot topics and solution focus sessions that were tailored and aligned to the needs of local customers. There was a lot interest in Intergraph NetWorks, our latest utilities and communication solution. Mike Baker, product management for Intergraph NetWorks, was on-hand to field questions from session attendees. Check out these images from the conference.

During the conference, a GIS competition was held and participants had a chance to share their GIS success stories. A 15-minute case study on a key project involving the innovative use of Hexagon’s solutions was presented. Out of the three shortlisted entries, Andy Cullen from Enable Networks emerged as the winner. He won a free trip to HxGN LIVE 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As with all of our users conferences, this year’s event sought to deepen the skillsets and product knowledge of our customers, helping them make most of their investment in Hexagon’s solutions. I would like to thank the attendees, colleagues, and sponsors for making this year’s conference a success. I look forward to seeing you at our next users conference.
