Last week marked the first HxGN LIVE conference in Asia, which attracted 3,500 attendees from across the Asia Pacific region to Hong Kong. Twenty-nine of those attendees – excluding China – took part in Hexagon Safety and Infrastructure’s Synergy track.
While the conference officially opened to the public on Wednesday, November 18th, we took the opportunity to discuss the future trends and directions of our solutions with APAC management and channel partners in the Asia Pacific Partners Conference on Monday. We also hosted hands-on training for I/CAD and G/Technology.
On Tuesday, we held the first Asia Pacific Public Safety – Industry Advisory Council (IAC) meeting, which was a high-level forum led by Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure senior executives Steven Cost, president; Jerry Su, vice president of global strategy; and Kalyn Sims, chief technology officer. Insights contributed by our key customers are critical to the innovation we bring to market for the public safety and security industry in Asia Pacific.
When the conference opened on Wednesday, all Hexagon brand solutions exhibited in The Zone with an overwhelming crowd of delegates. Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s public safety and security software solutions were showcased with Huawei Technologies, our strategic partner, with an impressive mockup of a real-life command center in the Safe Cities booth.
Our Smart Power exhibits drew many keen industry users with a huge lighted power plant model on display and live product demonstrations from our utilities and communications industry experts: Mike Baker, Michael Seah and Kevin Mason.
Wednesday was also when Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure President Steven Cost presented his keynote, which was the last in a larger keynote presentation delivered to conference attendees engaged in the Synergy track. The Synergy track keynote presentation theme was Smart Cities, Smarter Nations. Cost’s portion of the keynote focused on real-world customer examples of smart organizations, smart cities, and smart nations that are built upon connected, convergent, contextual, and consumable technologies.
On Thursday and Friday, we presented an exciting line up of sessions, including Ask the Experts, Industry Overview/Buzz, Hot Topics, Customer Spotlights, and Tips & Tricks for public safety and security, utilities and communication, and transportation audiences. Simultaneous translations into Mandarin were organized in each session for our Chinese customers.
During the conference, we interviewed the New Zealand Police and Tenaga Nasional Berhad for HxGN TV, which included a discussion about OnDuty – the latest policing mobile app developed with the New Zealand Police.
A big thank you to everyone involved in making the first Asia HxGN LIVE a great success. In the weeks ahead, more content from HxGN LIVE in Hong Kong will be available on our blog and social media, so stay tuned.
