Basel-Stadt Cantonal Police Uses Major Incident and Event Solution for UEFA Europa League Final

To ensure public safety and smooth workflows before, during, and after the 2016 UEFA Europa League final, the Basel-Stadt Cantonal Police adopted Hexagon's major event management software.

The Challenge

Basel, Switzerland, faced the great challenge of hosting the 2016 UEFA Europa League final, which attracted nearly 38,000 enthusiastic soccer fans to the city. Preparing for and coordinating public safety operations during such an event requires a large number of personnel, specialized equipment, and complex processes.

To ensure public safety and smooth workflows before, during, and after the match and related festivities, the Basel-Stadt Cantonal Police decided to upgrade its major event management capabilities. The agency needed a comprehensive solution for planning potential scenarios, centralizing all event details, and sharing information with its dispatch system.

The Basel-Stadt Cantonal Police selected major event management software from Hexagon’s Safety & Infrastructure division.
