Barcelona Honored for Public Safety Innovation

Shaping Smart Change City of Barcelona

The City of Barcelona was honored for its innovative use of Hexagon technologies at HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s annual conference, held last week in Anaheim, California. Barcelona’s commitment to public safety was highlighted as part of Hexagon’s Shaping Smart Change Recognition Programme.

The program recognizes Hexagon customers and partners for their visionary use of technology. Named for Hexagon’s commitment to help make a difference in the lives of people around the world, the program is designed to invoke a spirit of innovation, partnership, and impact.

With the help of innovative emergency management solutions from Hexagon, the City of Barcelona better protects its residents. Barcelona’s multi-agency emergency management platform is supported by Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch software, including mobile technologies. These solutions enable officials to more easily coordinate incident management between fire, police, and external agencies, and allow for quick and accurate response.

In addition to Barcelona, this year’s honorees are Airbus Defense & Space, AutoNavi, Consórcio Construtor Belo Monte, GE Aviation, Grupo Mexico, Grupo São Martinho, Huawei, NASA, PETRONAS and ZhengYuan Geomatics.

“Through their partnership with Hexagon, these organizations have advanced leading ideas and best practices in their respective markets, and we are excited to recognize their efforts and celebrate the positive impact they’ve made,” said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén.

Barcelona has set a standard of excellence in incident management. Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure congratulates Barcelona for this recognition and for its on-going commitment to public safety.
