Last week was big. The DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition celebrated 25 years with an amazing conference. It was the biggest show to date.
Earlier this year, Gartner predicted that the utilities industry would begin a digital business transformation – with companies focusing on three key areas: energy provisioning transformation, digital customer engagement, and digital workforce enablement.
Those key ideas seemed to permeate sessions and conversations throughout the conference. And if the topics discussed and technologies on display at DistribuTECH are any indicators of the future, the utilities industry will experience a sea change over the next few years. The change is upon us. Let’s all take keynote speaker Dr. Michio Kaku’s advice, get a surfboard, and ride the wave of change back to the beach.
Last week was also big for Intergraph at DistribuTECH. During last week’s conference, we made three big announcements. We revealed a strategic partnership and launched two new solutions. In case you missed them, here they are:
Our ETAP partnership offers utility providers a complete solution for advanced distribution management systems and engineering analytics.
Damage Assessment automates the damage data collection process making after-storm management and decision making more efficient.
Intergraph Outage Notifications automatically generates near-real-time notifications during an outage event, improving customer communication and service for utility providers.
During last week’s conference, we also sponsored Enersource’s live webcast: The Integrated Operating Model: Creating an Advanced Outage Management Environment to Control the Grid.
As utilities companies begin leveraging new technologies to transform their businesses, Intergraph’s solutions and partnership are designed to give them multiple tools for streamlining their operations, improving their customer service, and meeting tomorrow’s utility challenges.
