6 Things You Should Know About SCEWC 2019

It’s finally here!

Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2019, the world’s leading event for cities in Barcelona, Spain, kicks off in less than 24 hours.

Before you make your way to Fira Barcelona Gran Via tomorrow morning, here are six things you should know about this year’s event.

  1. Every aspect of the event is about sharing best practices, inspiring ideas, and new technologies for digital, safe, and intelligent cities.
SCEWC will offer sessions and presentations covering a variety of topics, including big data, modern transportation and mobility, social inclusion, environmental challenges, and emerging technologies.

Be sure to check out our congress sessions on digital twins and city platforms, as well as our booth presentations on Hexagon’s smart city capabilities for digital, safe, and intelligent cities.

  2. There’s innovative technology everywhere you look.
The trade fair will span two exhibit halls and feature 1,000+ exhibitors in more than 40,000 square meters (approximately 430,550 square feet) of space.

While you’re there, explore Hexagon’s smart city capabilities in Hall 2, Stand C-343. You can also discover solutions for building accessible, connected, and secure cities from Microsoft and partners in Hall 2, Stand B-223.

  3. It’s all about relationships for the greater good.
Explore hundreds of partnerships between governments, public and private entities, nonprofits, and more. On the SCEWC expo floor, learn how Hexagon and Microsoft have teamed up to help cities engage and connect with citizens by improving operational efficiencies across public safety systems.

You can form new partnerships as well! Join the popular Brokerage Event to schedule 20-minute meetings with potential business partners and clients.

  4. The best and brightest will be honored.
SCEWC will recognize pioneering city strategies, projects, and ideas designed to make cities more livable, sustainable, and economically viable at the World Smart City Awards.

  5. There’s more going on than just SCEWC.
Maximize your time at SCEWC by participating in one or several co-located events, including the Smart Mobility Congress, Circular Economy European Summit, Sharing Cities Action, Smart City Week, and Digital Future Society.

  6. Inclusivity and diversity are important parts of the week.
Fira Barcelona Gran Via has worked hard to ensure SCEWC is accessible to and representative of all. Examples include a nursing mother’s room with diaper changing units, translations from English to Spanish and sign language, an easy-to-navigate venue and exhibits, and more.

We can’t wait to see you this week at SCEWC 2019. Visit Hexagon in stand C-343 to learn how you can leverage the power of your entire city.
