What to Expect at APCO Canada Conference 2017

Halton Regional Police Services call center using Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch.

Each year APCO Canada finds an exotic location to host its annual conference, which brings together leading experts, professional speakers, and colleagues that represent public safety communications agencies from across Canada. It’s a conference that we are always excited to attend because of its innovative sessions, unique networking opportunities, and energetic exhibition floor. It’s also a chance to touch base with our customers and partners.

This year we have several highlights that we wanted to bring to your attention before the event. Without further ado, here they are.

Keeping Up with Dispatching: The Future of Web and Cloud-Based Capabilities
Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure public safety experts, Paul Hager and Ed Camilleri, will be presenting on Wednesday, November 8 at 2:15 p.m. They will share their thoughts and ideas on where the communications and dispatch industry is headed with regards to technology. During the session, they will explore what a web-based and cloud-enabled dispatch system would look and function like, explore some of the new capabilities delivered on these innovative platforms, and give a sneak peek into the exciting interoperability possibilities that come with extended functionality. You won't want to miss it!

Technology Highlights: Don’t Gamble on Your Dispatch. Visit booth #210!
At our booth, along with some awesome giveaways, we will have application consultants ready to demo! Our consultants will show our newest Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch system capabilities as well as displaying our integrated emergency management solution, Intergraph Planning & Response. Customer Session Highlight: Advancing Situational Awareness and Inter-Agency Coordination with Interoperability - Jim Garland, Alberta Health Services
It’s always great to see an innovative customer take center stage! Jim Garland, associative executive director of EMS Dispatch Communications and Deployment at Alberta Health Services (AHS), will talk about the provincial-wide project AHS undertook to ensure the regions across the province were able to share information and dispatch local EMS services more efficiently. Their CAD-to-CAD (using EdgeFrontier) integration project allows AHS to drive greater situational awareness and increased efficiencies of its resources. Learn more about this interesting project Tuesday, November 7 at 2:15 p.m.

As always, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure will have a number of attendees present at the APCO Canada event, feel free to reach out if you would like to stop by the booth for a demo or just to visit and chat. We look forward to seeing everyone in Windsor, Ontario!
