The Shape of Progress Takes Form at HxGN LOCAL India

HxGN LOCAL India

Held at Hexagon’s Capability Center in Hyderabad, India, more than 450 Hexagon customers and partners from across the country attended last week’s HxGN LOCAL India conference. Conference tracks and sessions from Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Hexagon Positioning Intelligence, Hexagon Geospatial, Hexagon Geosystems, Hexagon Mining, and Hexagon PPM gave customers the opportunity to learn more about many products and solutions from across Hexagon.

Manoj Pandit, general manager for Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure in India, opened Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s track and sessions. During his welcome address, Pandit discussed our Digital India initiatives, Hexagon’s technology leadership, and what Hexagon offers to India’s Safe Cities initiatives.

In his session “Convergence in the Cloud,” Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s Senior Vice President of Global Product Development Dan Retzer talked about the fusion of information and technologies in the cloud as well as how our enterprise information architecture approach is achieving safer cities globally. Retzer discussed how cities must have innovative solutions to ensure citizen safety during incidents and events as well as how cities must seamlessly connect with mission- and business-critical data to make better, more informed decisions.

After Retzer’s session, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s Vice President of Global Product Management Steve Marz talked about our latest product updates for supporting Safe Cities workflows. Marz’s shared product overviews, updates, and our Safe Cities technology vision to manage the entire life cycle for safe, efficient, and effective operations.

Demonstrating how Safe Cities technologies are already taking root in India, Prakash Narayan, executive services manager for Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure in India, and Ramanandham Konduru, executive technical manager for Hexagon’s Capability Center in India, discussed Uttar Pradesh Police’s public safety initiatives and technology strategy for the agency’s UP 100 project. The UP 100 project was conceptualized to respond to emergencies and better serve Uttar Pradesh’s large population with stringent response times in urban and rural areas. Our Intergraph Computer Aided-Dispatch (I/CAD) system is the principal software system used in the operations of this ambitious emergency response project.

To close our track and sessions, Prasad Dasari, executive technical manager for Hexagon’s Capability Center in India, discussed how our multi-utility solutions help companies manage electricity, water, and fiber communication infrastructure. Dasari also talked about how our utilities and communications technologies seamlessly integrate network models with mobile workforce and outage management solutions.
