The Future of Safe Cities - HxGN LIVE 2017 Recap

Safe Cities Lego setup HxGN LIVE 2017

To say that this year’s HxGN LIVE conference was important to the future of Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure would be an understatement. It was pivotal. As information and communication technologies change how our customers operate, so too, must the solutions we imagine and create for them.

During the conference last week, we revealed our Safe Cities vision and our plan to leverage cloud technology as a common platform for our Safe Cities solutions – and beyond. Moving our solutions to the cloud and enabling cross-industry collaboration and utilization will greatly benefit our customers. Being a veteran of HxGN LIVE, I think when we look back in a few years, this conference will be the one that pushed us to new technical possibilities and market opportunities.

In case you missed any of the keynotes or big news, here’s a recap of all of the things we shared and discussed during HxGN LIVE 2017.

Keynotes

Major Product Launches

We announced three important product launches last week. All of these newly released products fit into the aforementioned core platform that supports our Safe City initiatives and strategy.

Intergraph Planning & Response
Intergraph Planning & Response is an application for managing major incidents and events that integrates and coordinates resources, procedures, and communications for multiple agencies across jurisdictions and tiers of command. While this product has been available in certain regions for several years, it’s now globally available. We’ve also updated it with new features, including a mobile app.

This year, we also announced that Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure selected Microsoft Azure as the cloud platform our next-generation public safety and security products. These products will help reduce the total cost of ownership for mission-critical IT and enable public safety agencies and security operators to adapt to changing needs faster and more effectively. Hexagon’s new software-as-a-service (SaaS) products will enable customers to provision public safety and security solutions without complex hardware and software procurements.
